Join us for an extraordinary opportunity to experience one of the great cultural capitals of the world. Founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, St. Petersburg (Petrograd) was the capital of imperial Russia for 2 centuries and the home of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Dostoevsky, and Shostakovich, to name a few. You’ll tour such venues as the world-famous Hermitage Museum, the Winter Palace, historic churches, take a one-day visit to the Peterhof Imperial summer residence, the city of fountains, and enjoy an evening of ballet at the fabled Mariinsky Theatre. The climax of your stay will be a nighttime boat cruise along the water channels of St. Petersburg, and down the Neva river with its famous open bridges.
The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society offers a unique and comprehensive program of musical study in combination with cultural tours and excursions designed to inspire and stimulate the creative insight of young artists.
